Description:
The rhododendron, or “dunjuan,” has a wonderful Chinese legend behind it.  In ancient China, there was a beautiful woman named Dunjuan.  A rich man wanted to marry her, but she was already in love with a man from a poor family.  The rich man had Dunjuan killed in his anger, and she became the flower dunjuan, or rhododendron.  When the rhododendron opens, it is said that she opens in honor of the love she still has for the man she loves.
